According to PANews on October 11th, Binance founder CZ (Changpeng Zhao) responded to online rumors that he was “hunting and eliminating Wintermute,” stating that he had not come across the term in recent months and that his team does not engage in professional trading, only building trading tools. He urged people not to believe the false narrative. A user subsequently clarified that the relevant post was satirical, but CZ apologized for not having caught the humor.
